We, the People: Greensboro’s Funky Fourth Celebration on July 4, 2026

We are celebrating our Democracy’s 250 birthday on Saturday, July 4th.

The We, the People Parade, down Breezy Avenue, begins at 10 AM.  Clive Gray in his 250-year-old Pierce Arrow will  lead the menagerie followed by the Ladies Walking Society,  popular and unpopular politicians, hastily prepared floats, herds of animals(domestic and feral), old cars with and without brakes, dump trucks, fire trucks, and anybody else who chooses to join the fun.  Sorry, no Wienermobile this year.

The Community Gathering & Picnicfollow on the town green.  There you’ll find the:

·      Crafts Fair and Farmers’ Market

·      Kingdom Creamery Ice Cream Cones,

·      Grilled Dogs(Hot, Italian, Brat and Vegetarian),

·      Food Pantry Silent Dessert Auction,

·      Very Loud Dancing  Music by the Sky-Blue Boys

·      And… And…  the infamous Greensboro Dunk Tank(dress appropriately)

The We, the People Finale takes place at Highland Center for Arts. The picnic & outdoor games start at 5:30.  Greensboro’s Saturday Night Live Thespians will warm-up the crowd with their historically inaccurate version of our country’s founding and it’s Fathers.  Then at 6:30 the Vermont Philharmonic will top-off the day with its rousing performance of old, and not so old patriotic favorites.
