2025 Year in Review: Building Resilience, Together

Dear Greensboro Association Members,

This year, the GA responded to rapidly changing environmental and economic circumstances on many fronts. The 2 years of back-to-back flooding followed by extreme drought illuminated the vulnerabilities of life in rural Vermont and the need for strategic investments in resilient ecosystems here and around Greensboro. As highlighted in this Year in Review, thanks to your generosity, the GA was able to help essential local non-profits serve our community in the face of uncertain funding sources, reinforce existing programs and sponsor new ones, and advocate for long-term solutions. Food security was strengthened through education, community meals, fresh produce from the community garden, and more. Important environmental efforts included the planting of pollinator gardens, the decontamination station at the Caspian Lake Beach, Lake Wise and Stream Wise activities, an Adopt-a-Culvert program, and additional attention to addressing the instability of the Caspian Lake Dam. Diverse recreational activities and events drew our community together for fun and friendship around the year.

We deeply appreciate your participation and membership in the GA. Your generous contributions of ideas, expertise, time and financial support have made a tangible difference in the Greensboro community. Together, with your continued support and commitment, we will ensure that Greensboro’s remarkable and unique characteristics will be sustained and nurtured.

Please consider a year-end gift to the Fund for Greensboro (FFG) in your annual giving or estate plans. Gifts of any amount may be designated for Unrestricted use, the Caspian Lake Reserve Fund or the Community Endowment Fund. Your donations help advance the GA’s mission of connecting and enhancing our greater Greensboro community, protecting our lakes and environment, and supporting a vibrant local economy now and for years to come. We welcome your energy, interests, and perspectives on any of our committees or working groups. Thank you for all you do for the Greensboro Association and for our community.

Naomi Ranz-Schleifer, President and Cathy Irwin, FFG Chair
