The Greensboro Association celebrates a vibrant local community. The following are links to local organizations in Greensboro. Check back as we add more links.
Greensboro Historical Society
Since its founding in 1977, the Greensboro Historical Society has brought together diverse people from the community: descendants of founding families, new residents, members of the summer community, school children, working people and those who have chosen to retire in our town. All come together to celebrate and learn from our predecessors in this special place. Our membership, in this small town is more than 300 families.
Plan to attend the annual meeting on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Fellowship Hall, with a program entitled “The Problem of Slavery in early Vermont”.
Summer Music from Greensboro (SMfG), a non-profit 501 (c) (3) tax-deductible organization, has been a concert tradition in northern Vermont for over thirty years. Over the years, the SMfG concert series has enriched the lives of all ages among the greater Greensboro and Northeast Kingdom community, and presented exquisite performances by exceptional musicians from throughout Vermont, New England, and beyond to enthusiastic acclaim from these audiences.
Greensboro Arts Alliance and Residency
The small town community has always been the lifeblood of Vermont. But as no man is an island, no community exists in a vacuum. What happens in Greensboro affects people in Hardwick; events in Lowell change lives in Craftsbury. For the small town to thrive in the future, small town communities will have to bind together. G.A.A.R. believes that through shared cultural experience, communities can be brought closer together. And together, a brighter future can be made.
To provide cultural and economic opportunities to the towns of the Northeast Kingdom and its surrounding areas, primarily through theatrical production and artistic collaboration.
To build and operate a world class cultural facility where visionary artists— both domestic and international— will come to perfect and display their craft.
