July 4, 2011
We have been blessed with years of wonderful fireworks displays produced by Northstar Fireworks of East Montpelier.  This year was no different.  In fact, numerous times during the eighteen minute show, the crowds clapped in approval.  In addition to the typical colors and “booms” to which we have grown accustomed, the shooters gave us a few new shells producing a nice variety in the show that saturated the air for the duration.  One particular shell reminded this writer of a lawn sprinkler filled with light, instead of water, and pleased the audience as the downward facing parabolas of light approached the crowd.  Another shell burst into a dozen beams of lights which then each burst into a dozen more.  Can you say “exponential delight?”

The Fireworks Committee wishes to thank the Town for their continued co-sponsorship of this event, the Sowles for continuing to allow Northstar to use their high-and-dry land close to the ball field from which to shoot the display, and the numerous financial contributors who ensure the Association’s ability to support this fun event in honor of our country’s independence.

Please put Saturday, July 7, 2012 on your calendar for next year’s Funky 4th celebration and fireworks.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the Fireworks Committee, Michael E. Porrazzo
