Barr Hill and Long Pond Committee

Chairs: Paul and Sue Slater, Clive Gray, Carolyn King

Barr Hill received its usual stream of visitors during the year. The road has been in passable condition. A rope fence that protects the vernal pool along the road in the spring was removed by unknown parties. The Hardwick Police was notified. The ravine in front of the large maples near the Nature Trail’s start was excavated by Gary Dimick to enable it to be trimmed by simple brush hogging in future. Clumps of juniper bush were then moved into the ravine.  In early August a team mobilized by the Greensboro Land Trust and Long Pond Stewardship Committee cleared substantial blowdown on the trails to Long Pond’s north shore and Blueberry Rocks.
