Record breaking heat couldn't stop Greensboro from celebrating the best Funky Fourth in years!  The parade was extremely well attended and many in the community marched and brought their talents to the event.   Many stalwart performers were there again in force, including the Greensboro Walkers, Wonder and Wisdom (this year with a great float including a giraffe), the Bread and Puppet theatre, Lisa the clown, and many wonderful old cars and huge farm equipment.  Even Queen Elizabeth I made an appearance!
After the parade, the afternoon was filled with terrific music at a wonderful fair at the Town Hall.  The annual chicken supper at the United Church of Christ sold out as usual, and an exhibition of local work at the recently repainted Millers Thumb was on display.
Equally grand were the fireworks, as well as the pre fireworks sounds of a lone bagpipe across Caspian Lake.   The entire day was capped off by a street dance supporting the Greensboro Fire House at the Town Hall.
