Paraphrased from The Hardwick Gazette, August 19, 2009: The Vermont Telecommunications Authority is focusing on extending cellular service to areas where there are not enough customers per mile - including the Northeast Kingdom. Using new technology and Legislative Act 79, they are trying to site another 200 towers, two of which are in Greensboro environs. Legislative Act 79 changed the laws about citing towers; local zoning permits and Act 250 do not apply - the process is very efficient.
