The Greensboro Arts Alliance will hold auditions for two upcoming productions on July 28 through 31st. Performances of The Contrast, a farce written in 1784 by Vermont's own Royall Tyler, will be August 14 and 15. Performances of H6 R3 (Shakespeares Henry the 6th and Richard the 3rd combined) will be August 22 and 23. You must reserve a space for audition by calling 533 7487.
The Contrast is a very funny period piece set to music. The Greensboro Arts Alliance will stage this as a concert version with costumes, lights and a focus on the music and acting. All Roles are open, and all involve singing parts. H6 R3 is a stirring combination of two of Shakespeares iconic plays which includes many soliloquies which we know. Jugglers, musicians, fencers and other medieval artists are also needed to create an ambience of Shakespearean England.
All parts are open and rehearsals will be held daily during the weeks until the production. Rehearsals will be mandatory. There are also two production openings for modest pay or college credit - stage manager/production assistant and stage hand. Call 533 7487 for details.
