2010 Report
Membership, as measured by entries in the 2010 Directory, declined slightly, from 553 to 543. This was due to the demise of a significant number of members and to more aggressive deleting of members (18)for non payment of dues.
We wish to continue efforts to seek the broadest audience possible. We will remind all community members of our activities in publishing information (directories, maps, schedules, etc), informing members about issues impacting the community, maintaining the quality of the lake in numerous ways, supporting nonprofits, and several others. In addition, we have begun, in two ways, an approach to improving our penetration in or near the Lake District. One is by house by house identification of prospective members, using the Caspian Lake Guide and accompanying map (courtesy of The Greensboro Association, 2009), and the other is by reviewing members of Mountain View Country Club, for prospects, where our penetration is already fairly strong. With the help of Anne Cassidy we will attempt to compile a prospect list of 75 to 100 names, with the objective of converting 25 to new members by Spring 2011.
Additional prospects will be developed from resources such as church membership and voter registration lists, but these in the past have had much lower yields.
